Obituary

David Laduzenski 1982 – 2011 SOMERVILLE – David Laduzenski, of Somerville, died tragically March 26, 2011 at Baystate Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in an accident involving a drunk driver. He was surrounded by his immediate and extended family, his soon-to-be fiancĂ©e, and countless friends from throughout Massachusetts who kept vigil leading up to his passing. He was born February 23, 1982 in Springfield. He was the most loving son of Donald and Ann Marie (Anzalotti) Laduzenski. He attended West Springfield schools and graduated from West Springfield High School in 2000, where he was a member of the swim team, setting records in breast stroke, and a charismatic drummer in the school band. He also was a member of the Screaming Terriers Jazz Ensemble and competed as a member of the Westfield Y Waves swim team. Nurturing his childhood hobby of tinkering, he graduated from Northeastern University in Boston in 2005 with a major in Mechanical Engineering. A focused young man with clear goals, he was currently employed as a mechanical engineer at Project Insight in Acton and worked evenings at AKA, a technology company, in Cambridge. He also was in the process of purchasing a two family home in Waltham as investment property. David savored life and lived each moment to the fullest. He loved riding his Harley throughout New England with his “Nor”; snowboarding and being with his friends; dancing; traveling throughout Vietnam and the U.S. ; competitive marksman shooting; and deep sea fishing and golfing with his Dad. He was a vibrant spirit, who lit up a room and made friends easily with his smile and positive energy. That incredible spirit will live on through six organ recipients ranging from 1 year to 66 years of age. David is survived by his devoted parents, Donald and Ann Marie of West Springfield; his sister and close friend, Dr. Sarah Laduzenski and future brother-in-law, Krey Sims of Falmouth, ME; and paternal grandmother, Jane Laduzenski of Chicopee. He is also survived by the love of his life, Eleanor Halgren of Somerville, and a very close-knit, extended family consisting of loving aunts and uncles: Salvatore Anzalotti of Agawam; Robert and Tracy Anzalotti of East Longmeadow; Belisa Anzalotti and Michael Culver of Longmeadow; Ronald and Sandra Paradis of Florida; and cousins Nicholas and Mia Culver of Longmeadow and Ronald Paradis of Arizona. He leaves a network of truly, amazing friends, many dating back to his childhood. He is welcomed into heaven by maternal grandparents, Albert and Pasqualina Anzalotti and his paternal grandfather, Alexander Laduzenski. He will be missed more than words can say.
